A visit to Fat Cat's cafe is now becoming a fortnightly event which I really look forward to. The best part about the place is the ever-changing menu of weekend specials so there's always something new to try. it also helps that they do delicious pork dishes, something which i can't have at home. One of this weeks specials was the Balsamic pork with potatoes. Simple, clean flavours with a sweetish tinge the dish was an absolute delight and I enjoyed mopping up the sauce with some bread. Reasonably priced and a very decent portion for an average appetite.

An all time favourite of mine at the cafe is the Goan Sausage Roll. The quantity of meat is generous and it is flavoured with goan spices and chillies and stuffed between really fresh bread...great for an evening snack or even light dinner. Pity they don't serve beer else this would be a match made in heaven.

I chanced upon the Lemon Drizzle cake on an earlier visit and it became an instant favourite like most of the other stuff I've tried here. Fresh sponge with a good hit of lemon, this simple looking coffee-cake is extremely refreshing, especially after the spice hit of the sausage roll. They also do a wonderful red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Another week's special was the nutella and strawberry cake. I was apprehensive of the 2 flavours coming together but the flavour of the nutella is ever so mild. Chocolate and strawberries is a great combination and this cake was divine.
